The annual fireworks extravaganza on Lake Cypress Springs began in 1997. It is conducted Saturday of the weekend before or after Independence Day. This year’s show has been set for 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017. The staging area is on the landing at Mary King Park. The location provides great visibility from a variety of locations along the shoreline as well as on the water. The event is privately sponsored, with donations from area businesses and individuals. Funds collected over the cost of the supplies are donated to the South Franklin Fire Department. Call 214-546-6043 to Sarah Boltz for information or to make a donation.
