Franklin County Handicapable Rodeo – September 22, 2017

Handicapable Rodeo

Friday, September 22, 2017

Handicapable Rodeo – A “Handicapable Rodeo” for children and adults who are physically and/or mentally challenged began in 2002.  This special rodeo is coordinated with area schools and is conducted during the day. More than 800 challenged people participated in last year’s event.

Traditionally conducted on the third or fourth Friday of September, this year’s event will be Friday, Sept. 22, 2017. The venue for the event is being changed due to the continued growth in the number of participants and space needed for parking. This year the Handicapable Rodeo will be conducted at the Sulphur River Cowboy Church located at 1935 CR NW 1060. It is off Hwy. 37 just south of the Hagansport community.

Brisket and other smoked meat sales are planned Friday and Saturday, May 27 and 28 on the Brookshire’s Food Store parking lot.  Funds raised will help produce the event. Cash contributions toward hats, bandanas and food for the event are welcomed.

Miss Demeanor

July 29 – Miss Demeanor and the Groove Felons
Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Masterful musicians who play for the joy of the music!  When these four come together you’re in for an evening of smooth sounds from the days of Jazz clubs and The Big Bands.  Brushes on cymbals, beat of the bass, effortless notes from the guitar and the blissful voice of Shannon!

Once a year, these four leave their other lives and come to The Bowery Stage for a night of music that always delights and always brings in a big crowd of appreciative listeners!

July 8 – Ronny Cox Band
Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

“Most people know of my acting career, but not so many know of my life-long love and dedication to music.  These days, I spend less time acting and more time as a singer/songwriter performing at folk festivals, concert venues and small intimate theaters all over the U.S. Music is my first love, and allows me a really special connection to audiences – a connection that works both ways.  I hope to find you in one of my audiences soon!”

Fireworks on the Lake – July 1, 2017
